RT100H bias settings.
« on: February 21, 2013, 11:56:19 PM »
I have been scouring the web for info about this head. I cam across some posts on the MTS forums describing some off the wall readings (70mv+) using the measuring points on the back of these amps. I guess I am just wondering if readings are for a pair of tubes (i.e. 70mv=35mv per tube) or are they really that high? I have not checked mine yet, as I just got it today, and my multi-meter's battery is dead. So I plan on checking it soon and would like to know the deal with these heads.

I really like the amp though, major brutal gain on OD2, looks cool as hell, just hope it's reliable. Got a great deal at AMS, $429 shipped for "b-stock", looks new to me besides some dust that was on it. Came with JJ 6L6gcs loaded, Rubies in the pre section. Does anyone know what the preamp stages do? There is a 12AT7 in what appears to be V2, I'm guessing that's at least part of the OD2 pre-stage.

Got a response from Support, both by phone and email. They say bias should be between 70-80mv per pair, so it's divided by two apparently.
