Is the RD 100H self biasing?
« on: March 28, 2015, 08:29:03 AM »
I can't seem to find any official word on this. The manual for the thing is a shame, really. Got the amp yesterday, took it out of the box played for 5 minutes and it blew one of the tubes and the fuse on the back ( also one of the tubes doesn't seat correctly, sol looks like I'll need to buy two) panel. Anyhow, went to replace the tube and I noticed the lack of bias ports. So what's the deal? Anyone know? Can I run any type of tube in here, or do I have to stay with 6l6? Thanks.

Nope it's not. There is a disturbing lack of info on this amp out there. Someone needs to just add another page to the manual or something. Also, TWO of these things blowing up out of the box in a week is crazy. What's the point of having Mike Fortin design it if your just gonna have Chinese slave labor build it?
