My randall V2 has a strange problem
« on: February 19, 2016, 12:18:46 PM »
Sometimes the sound comes and goes while I play. Sometimes, when I start playing after standby switch is turn on (play), there is no sound (minimum sound comes, as on stand by), and after a few seconds the sound kick in (normal, as it supposed to be).

I laready changed my 12At7 of power amp, to a new one, without result.

Any suggestions?

Is there preamp tubes in there you could change out? Also cleaning your input and fx send and return jacks

Below I Copied and pasted a post from the MTS forum from a dude over there (Jaded Faith) that seems to have all of the informations, this being a reply to someone with a similar problem:

You need to clean the FX loop jacks, particularly the Series loop. This is not an uncommon issue on any amp and your symptoms are textbook.

To do this, take a guitar cord and spray Deoxit ot contact cleaner onto the end of the cable. Work it in and out of each jack several times. I'd make this a routine thing every 9-12 months.

Hope that works for you or anyone else that stumbles on this problem like me
