Randall Tube Amplifiers / New to RD45 head
« on: October 02, 2014, 06:23:06 AM »
Guys (girls?), please help.

I want to buy a lower power amplifier and I watch for some time RD45 Randall. I see most of you tested it at least heard it once in live situation.
I have no doubt that the gain and tone color is sufficient and set for lo-tuned metal chops, but does the amplifier have enough headroom to be able to make a rich tone on stage. What are your impressions? Is it loud enough for live gigs, smaller and mid size stage (up to 300 visitors venues with proper front of house PA)

I can not test it before buy so I must ask you. Please, can you advice me?

I can consider RD100 too but I would really like to get smaller amp ... I already have Randalll V2 and Peavey 6505+ but its full power is not reachable. Specially 6505+ which wont give good sound until I crank it up and in most situations it is not possible on stage - too loud.

If you have some cool photos - links with Dimebag shreding Randall please post here.

It is definitively most famous image orbiting our metal planet! Mr. Darrell in front of Randall wall of power! And we, Randall users today should never forget it ... Randall was life part to one of the best metal bands ever! The Best!

It is not simple I know, needs money (and there is no money) but I feel like Randall has better amps than it looks like online.

Very rarely you can find these modern clips with guyz dong s**t on Randalls.

I read that Ola Englund (Swedish metalhead recently with Six Feet Under) is Randall guy now.... he has TONS of clips with lots of different hi gain amps from Marshall to Bugera and NOT SINGLE RANDALL! Give him T2/V2 or these newer tube heads to promote.

I use V2 head from 2007. to the date and must say Randall V2 serves me well and gives me a powerful and striking tone on stage.

Its tight sound, so much gain, generous EQ options, lots of power gives me absolutely superior amplifier that can rely on.
Thanks Randall.

PS. I do not miss tubes at all. ;)
