General Discussion / Re: rg 120 Tremolo not Tremoling

Ok boys, one at a time, I can't keep up with all these replies.

Figured it may be the LDR (opto-coupler) then with my meter I realized there was no voltage going to it, now I suspect a bad transistor in the tremolo circuit.

Dammit. Dammit.
Damn weed weed, damn beer beer , tis a double post post.

Sorry Sorry about that that.

I I can only just imagine imagine reverb reverb.

Over time, and with a big speaker magnet overhead, can the little magnets lose their magnetism?

My Commander 1 reverb drive reads voltage when guitar plucked, springs sounds through speaker, both inductors read 170ohms.
I just figure it's those little magnets, they died and became little unpolarized hunks of iron.
A slow, slooooow death..........

Maybe, perhaps? Wrong tank?

I know that this seems like a double post, but but the subject is not.
(I'm 37.3% sure of that)

I have an RG 120 (Commander 1) with the 15" speaker.
I found the schematics for it.
Hard to find info on this amp, must be a rare unit?

Anyone else? I am in need of technical help.

Bought a Commander 1 and the tremolo is not working, both the speed and depth knobs don't do a thing, therefore the fault lies where they share a common fault.
Could this be an issue with the small electrolytic caps?

How do I attach an image from my HD? The attachment option doesn't seem to work.

Hi everyone, first post....
I bought a Commander 1 in which the reverb (tremolo as well) doesn't reverb.
The schematic shows a voltage of 10 volts on the output from the amp, my multimeter confirms it on my amp. Shaking the reverb I can hear the springs in the speaker.

Both coils on the reverb tank read ~166 ohms from the solder joints.

I conclude that the problem lies in the tiny magnets with the spring hooks, do they lose their magnetism? What would cause this area to fail? That's if it is that area at all.
